On March 27th, 2017, the New York times published
an article called: “The Republicans in Power: From ‘We Got This’ to ‘What Now?’ where the author Carl Hulse
illustrates the inability of the GOP to replace the Obama care just like
President Trump said “We couldn’t quite get there” even though during Donald
Trump’s campaign he promised a lot of things among those promises were the
substitution of the Obama care which in the past week Americans sensed the New
Care Act as a fiasco and the overhaul of the tax code. Carl Hulse describes the
GOP as a team not prepared yet to make huge changes in the government. He says:
“The failure of the health care bill exposed inherent Republican weaknesses. As
a party, they haven’t passed substantive legislation on their own since 2005
and the lack of experience was glaring.” Additionally, Trump declared he will
change the tax code so his Health Care Act can meet the requirements. Hulse
thinks it is a harder to change the tax code than to pass a successful care
act.
Trump will not
accomplish much without help from the Democratic party. However, trump will be
pushing for what he thinks it is correct in consequence he will change his
style and goals that the ones he had during his campaign. Personally, I agree
with Hulse Trump will not make any good to the country without a backup plan,
or reliable sources where he can propels his goals.
